WordPress Fix Completion Report
A clear record of what went wrong, what changed and what to do next.
Use this template to make the end of a website repair feel as clear as the start—whether you are briefing a supplier, handing work to a client or keeping an internal record.
- Four simple handover sections
- Plain-English prompts
- Print, save or copy
Make it your own: use the prompts that suit the job and remove anything you do not need. It is a helpful handover structure, not a promise that every item is included in every package.
The problem we agreed to solve
Start with the customer or business impact, then describe what a successful fix should look like.
- Website and project reference
- What was happening and where
- Who or what it was affecting
- The result everyone agreed to check
What we found and fixed
Explain the cause and the repair in language the person receiving the report can understand.
- A plain-English cause summary
- The work completed
- Important files or settings changed
- Any database or configuration changes
How the fix was checked
Record the important journeys that were tested so the handover is useful and reviewable.
- The original problem retested
- Relevant browser and device checks
- Connected journeys checked where appropriate
- Release status and rollback route
What happens next
Finish with the information someone needs to make a sensible decision—not a wall of technical notes.
- Anything still worth watching
- External dependencies or known limits
- Recommended follow-up and priority
- A short summary for the website owner
